I'm going to be there at some point this spring. I've found some good deals on AirBnb. I wonder if this might be an option for many (even you!) for less expensive travel accomodations.
Airbnb is still expensive. Unless you risk the ones with bad ratings 🙄. Best value is sharing the house with two or three friends - that will make it cheaper than the hotels.
Am glad to see this annual guide has returned! Looked forward to reading it every year to one day plan my trip and was happy to have it my first time there two years ago. Hoping I’ll make it back next year. Won’t be able to this year
I'll be there to catch a few of the later games in mid-March. Can't wait! For anyone looking for a ritzier dining experience (along with the price tag) there's an awesome French restaurant in Palm Beach called La Gouloue. Very excited for this new way to support good sports journalism and interact with fellow fans! Go Nats!
For those who haven't been before, I can't emphasize enough that the games are not the point. Showing up at 9am is the highlight -- not a lot of fans, everybody has their guard down and is willing to chat. You might find yourself sitting on a near-empty aluminum bleacher, and watching a simulated game with the GM, or a BP session with James Wood's mom. As the 1pm game time approaches, the crowds here and those folks disappear.
And the later in the season you go, the busier it gets.
My first Spring Training and I am looking forward to it. Purposely going early, before the games start on the 21st - who knows, maybe I’ll even run into Mark.

Ok this is my first comment and THANK YOU MARK I look forward to your coverage which I have enjoyed these 20 plus years
though nothing like DC plan for rush hour traffic on 95 if you’re planning on staying outside the immediate area.
