The Nats won another road series after rallying for a 5-4 victory over the Mets on Thursday afternoon. Mark (From Citi Field) & Al open with CJ Abrams, who crushed a 2-run HR in the top of the 8th to put the Nationals up for good. Abrams' OPS is up to .961; which is 5th best in the NL (Ildemaro Vargas has the lead believe it or not).
(13:15) Sloppy base running in the top of the 9th; which cost the team chance at insurance runs.
(15:45) James Wood made two excellent defensive plays in RF.
(20:00) Miles Mikolas pitched competitively and ultimately allowed three runs in four innings of work. Mikolas struck out three Mets and his ERA currently sits at 8.23.
(23:00) The bullpen only gave up one run the entire series. Gus Varland notched a four out Save, his 3rd of the year.
(25:35) After a 4-2 road trip, the Nationals return for six game home stand on Friday. This weekend they host Milwaukee, who they swept last month on the road. Minnesota comes to town on Tuesday for a three game series on South Capitol Street. Washington will enter May at a surprising 15-17.
(28:00) The Juan Soto trade and its after effects seemed to be in the background this series more than past meetings against Washington.
