Friday morning Q&A
It's time to answer your questions about the first 2 1/2 weeks of spring training
Can you believe we’re almost halfway through spring training already? The Nationals have officially been assembled in West Palm Beach for 2 1/2 weeks now. They break camp and head north three weeks from tomorrow. Time flies when you’re having fun, huh?
With another night game on tap against the Astros this evening, it seems like a good time to take stock of things and find out what you’re most interested in about spring training and the new-look Nats.
That’s what I’m here for. I’ll be taking and answering your questions this morning, just like I used to do from time to time at my old employer. For the uninitiated, here’s how it works: Submit your question in the comments section below, then check back throughout the morning for my replies. Please note: You must be a paid subscriber to access the comments. And if you only read my articles via email, you’ll need to go to natsjournal.com to see the questions and answers.
I plan on starting to type out my responses around 10 a.m., so you’ve got a couple hours to get your questions in the queue before I join. Looking forward to it! …

With the log jam of outfielders on the Major League team and quite a few prospects that seem to be ready / almost ready to be on the big league club. Do you think they will end up moving one of them for a position of need or kick the can down the road and enjoy the depth for the time being? Thanks!
In 2025, only 52 pitchers (in the entire sport!) were qualified for the ERA title. (For the uninitiated, that means these pitchers threw 162 or more innings.) Yes, fewer than two pitchers per team!
Two of those pitchers -- Irvin (180) and Parker (164) -- were Nationals. My question is... how many pitchers from the Nationals do you think will qualify this year? Who is going to eat up the innings?
("How many Nats pitchers will finish with more than 162 innings pitched, how many innings?" seems like the type of question we see in the annual Zuckerman Media Predictions column!)
