Sit Crews, Wood in field, will help his hitting.

Garcia DH.

My thoughts

Nice to have a game and it doesn't start just before my bedtime.

Re-signed Matt Krook. His history with the Nats so far:

- 7/7 vs the Astros: Faced 5 batters. 1 K, 1 HBP, 1 walk, 1 hit, 1 groundout. Lifted for Cornelio

- 7/10 vs. the Yankees: Faced 3 batters. 1 groundout, 1 single, 1 HR (to Chisholm).

- 7/11 vs. the Yankees: Faced 2 batters. 1 groundout, 1 K

6.75 ERA

The trend appears to be in the right direction: He's facing fewer batters each time.

Why does it feel like he was so much worse than that?

" PJ Poulin on the 15-day IL with a left flexor strain" are not words any of us wanted to hear. Rats.

Can we get Yean back ASAP without significant roster adjustments? Doesn't sound like it unfortunately.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Would really like to see Yean again.

Yes. If he is replacing Poulin on the active roster he can be recalled before the 15-day timeout period. Which expires on Tuesday anyways.

That muscle is slow to heal and keep effectively stretched. That is a tough bit of news.

So Lovelady and Poulin seem to be dealing with what sounds like significant injuries. I can’t say I remember hearing they got injured? As for Krook - surprised he is back. But in one of his appearances he was very good. All told this just emphasizes how much they really need to acquire some major league ready relievers and pitchers. Last night was a complete pitching debacle so they had to figure Krook was worth another chance.

ANNND he's a lefty, that sounds like it trumps everything else. Not so sure, just throw strikes & GET OUTS.

We will see. Just read that Williams got shelled in A level ball. Think this is the second time. But Irvin was great in AA level today. So maybe he is able to help soon.

Harry Ford was impressive Friday night; of course, so was everybody else in the Nats' lineup, so who knows if it means anything? Hope he does well again tonight.

Wood looks like he's entered another of his K slumps. Hope it doesn't last long.

I liked that behind the backstop view during a pitch. Not all the time, but I like when they actually show the pitch from different views. Wirecam, back stop, dugout view.

Hate it I want to see the strike box not the umpires butt

Moonlight Graham's avatar

lol. I can do without the strike box a dozen times a game to get alternative field views, but I get it.

What is the issue that the All Star break steals James Wood and he can't hit

Strike zone is…😳

Nunez manufactured that run.

Dear Bkake,

Luis Garcia is sizzling hot. Who would pitchers rather face, Garcia or someone else? Yup, someone else. Could you play him while he has a hot hand? Thanks for your time.

Best regards,
