Coors Field is oriented unusually far toward north because the designers wanted to preserve the view of the Rocky Mountains beyond left field. It looks great, but the tradeoff is that the setting sun can make it difficult for the first baseman to see throws coming across the diamond.

Yeah, usually home plate faces northeast, but that setting sun there looks brutal for a 1B.
