I am finding these lineups/matchups pretty interesting. I am looking forward to seeing what a larger sample size reveals. The offense is looking more dangerous by the day. I hope they can sustain it for a good while. In the meantime, lets look for another CURLY W and GO NATS!!!

Where the lineups are concerned, I've decided to just "go with the flow" and not worry about or question them. That being said, I am going to voice a concern. :-) Why not leave Wood in RF, where he seems to be thriving? (Witness last night!) Or does Weimer not have any LF experience? I guess Toboni/Butera have their reasons.

Meanwhile -- Go, Nats!!

It's been a while since we've had a pitcher about whom I have legitimately been this hopeful. Looking forward to the day when we can call a Cavalli start "win day".

Playing the Cards is never easy, even if they are in a rebuild mode. A well needed series win to build confidence after that swept by the LAD

The boys should have felt better the minute they saw LA beat Toronto 14 to 2 last night

I’m feeling like Mead is gonna have a big game tonight!

Wow. Alexa just said she’s a dog lover. And I thought I couldn’t like her anymore. She can walk Moriah (Akita) anytime. You go, girl!

And we're underway on a chilly, windy, 51-degree Tuesday evening.

This team hates success what a clown show

Why does Mead attempt to cut off a throw WITH HIS BACK TO THE PLAY???

Had not realized how much Cavalli lacks a put out pitch against lefties

Defense really let Cavalli down this inning. Way too many pitches, too.

Ugly top of the first. Cavalli wasn't sharp, but he should've been out of the inning with nothing on the board if not for Abrams booting a tailor-made 6-4-3 DP. Cavalli wound up throwing 11 extra pitches as a result, and the Nats wound up facing a 2-0 deficit that didn't need to be.

Mark — please ask during post game whether someone yelled for Mead to cut that throw by Weimar home or if he just did it on his own…

Really tough replay inning there. Baseball Gods may not be smiling on us tonight.

Well, they got one run back in the bottom of the first thanks to singles by Wood, House and Lile. And they nearly got both runs back when Wiemer busted down the line in hopes of beating out a 6-4-3 DP. Alas, the call was overturned on replay review. Still, nice hustle by Wiemer (who is 0 for his last 5).
