Got two in RF

david behnke's avatar

That's to keep the ball from rolling to the fence

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

Thanks, just fixed it. Butera keeps me on my toes the way he moves all his outfielders around daily!

peter wood's avatar

Maybe Jake has found a way to get the Cubbies to all hit to RF!

peter wood's avatar

That's an interesting lineup.

Tim K's avatar

I like DC3 in RF

david behnke's avatar

He has done well there.

NATS?_nats?'s avatar

Is there a method to find out if there is a pre-game show and what time it will start?

peter wood's avatar

Maybe it is by invitation only:))

TMinALX's avatar

I thought it’s 30 minutes before home games and 15 minutes before road games.

Good question. They are definitely not getting the most out of Alexa. She is a superstar.

Love Lord in the long reliever role; not so much as a traditional starter.

Jay Bryant's avatar

"Butera also mentioned the club might start stretching Brad Lord out more, allowing for the possibility the right-hander could return to a starting role..." Who was it who predicted this a couple of days ago? Oh, yeah. Me.

Good call JB

Let's go Nats!! Get us a CURLY W to start the series tonight!!

I would say leave him in the bullpen rather than continuing to shift him back and forth. He does very well in that role. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

They may want to keep their options open. Starters are by no means etched in stone at this point. Lord could be insurance if & when they may need it.

BassMan's avatar

I can see him doing the odd spot start like Sunday. But let him settle, at least for the remainder of this year. Next year you see what you have in Spring Training.

Mark's avatar

Starter is now a flexible term. He started last game. And I expect he gets a chance next time too. If he is pitching well - his start can continue on. Just my thought.

I think he’s earned a chance to start again, if they can use him in that role. Get your concerns about the back and forth tho.

Tanner Rainey now with Tigers and Zack Littel picked up by the D-Backs … that’s really a shortage of pitchers ..,

gonatsgo1's avatar

Wasn't Rainey the last remaining guy to go from the '19 club?

Pkmusic78's avatar

You may be right!

Bill S formerly dclivejazz's avatar

It was hard to tell, Martinez refused to play him so long while he was still on the roster.

gonatsgo1's avatar

I figured it was Rainey or Robles.

Bill S formerly dclivejazz's avatar

I think they nontendered Rainey after 2024 but they waived Robles during that season…

Nats and Cubs are underway on warm-and-breezy, 87-degree Tuesday evening in D.C.

Wow, seems like they haven’t played for a week since that fun SWEEP! Given recent history I hope there can be a moratorium on the ridiculous and venomous “this team hates their fans” screed. It’s been tiring to read multiple times on this otherwise enjoyable board. Maybe too much to hope for but🤞…Go Nats!

gonatsgo1's avatar

Do yourself a favor. "Block" is your friend. I haven't seen any of those comments in almost two weeks. -:)

Skum8247's avatar

Thanks for the tip

gonatsgo1's avatar

That tired act was over on the WashPost for years and I thought no more. I'm very reluctant to censor anything/anybody but had enough. Who needs it?

Donna Will's avatar

Notice that we never see anything from them when we win. They never have a positive thought to share.

gonatsgo1's avatar

A 1-2-3 start for Irvin. But...took 20 pitches.

Skum8247's avatar

Here’s hoping he just needed a little warmup

Mark's avatar

Maybe it was too hot and humid for him tonight?

Skum8247's avatar

And with House on base!

Muscled the heck outta that
