Development lineup! Platoons out the window! (Ignore that Kevin Gausman has reverse splits)

Crews should be batting 10th. (While we’re all waiting and dreaming with him)

Yup, agree totally.

MacMom54's avatar

He gets a seemingly endless free pass.

Not from the opposing pitchers 🤣

I think the more they put him out there, they more they can make a long-term determination. I remember reading about him taking the coaching and hitting strategy to heart once he was demoted at the beginning of the season, and that the underlying numbers seem to be showing improvement at the plate. He is an excellent outfielder. Still way too soon to give up on him.

Warm afternoon here at the Park. And a multitude of Cubs faithful. Of course.

I didn’t begrudge the Cubs faithful who stayed to the end the joy of marching out of the stadium singing “Go, Cubs Go.” Baseball should be fun, and they have a great tradition whether the team is hot or not.

Although, to be honest, if we’re going to be singing Steve Goodman songs they’d pick some of his better ones. 🙄

I will be burning some incense near my TV; hope that can help the Nats:))

Forget the lineup. And never mind that Crews is thankfully out of the leadoff spot. More importantly: Mark - did you have a chocolate birthday cake? (My personal favorite)

Like the lineup except JY out

Hot as the sun at the plate- on the bench. 🤷‍♀️

It's several days late but I'm a busy boy. Did you all see Tom Boswell's column on the Nats? If you've already covered this, ima prouda of youz guys.

Missed that. Was that in the Post?

gonatsgo1's avatar

Yup, posted in these pages yesterday.

My mom had to alert me to it and it was really my brothers who were interested. My dad was a big fan as were many of the old WAPO NJ readers. I figured sum buddies done let yaal know but some may have missed it. Sadly, not been close with the Nats this year but hoping the world can settle down after November. I still think there will be a full 2027 season so don't sell my subscription to some other reader, Facebook Guy!

Glad that Crews is not in the leadoff spot. Time for him to step up and start showing what some of us still believe is there.

My LSU fandom in theory creates issues with Bregman and Guasman.. But let’s Geaux Nats!

And let’s leave JD5 and his beef with LSU out of it.

Tiger pitcher gone

Now let’s keep Bregman quiet too!

Interesting lineup.

The ticket gods gifted me with a Club- level ticket in section 214. Very pleasant to have the option to get into some AC on a day like this!

I just looked at my watch and it said it's CURLY W TIME!!

Steve's avatar

Really like the lineup, except 2B…..Jacob Young hopefully available to PH, PR or take over in CF if Nats lead late - that would be nice.

Geordie Keitt's avatar

Wait - Ortiz and Chaparro in the lineup AT THE SAME TIME?!?! No one can LIVE at that speed!

Mark P's avatar

Speed doesn't matter much when you're hitting them out of the yard. 🙂

Bob's avatar

It’s more like momentum than speed.

And the series finale is underway on a sticky, 89-degree Thursday afternoon at Nationals Park.

Seems like Crews is perpetually at 0-2.

Lost at the plate from my seat.

I hate to join in the hand-wringing but I really wish I saw some evidence that he has some future as a major league baseball player… even a mediocre one.
