Some folks have a Ph.D after their name.

Lovelady's is DFA.

Yikes.

I’d be really pissed if I was Orlando. We have relievers unable to fulfill their role consistently and he showed himself as a cool and calm reliever who did what needed to be done.

The brain trust seems to keep pushing all the right buttons, but this one is hard to fathom.

Baseball’s fathoms are not predictable.

He has more options. I think it is as simple as that.

I agree that's a big consideration. Some of the other relievers like Perez and Lovelady are out of options and others like Brad Lord have important roles they don't want to disrupt yet.

Last season in the majors he had a 7.03 ERA across 24.1 innings in 22 games. In AAA this season (5.1 IP in 6 games), he has a 3.38 ERA. I’m not sure how good he will continue to be.

I'm pissed on his behalf. To say I dislike this move is probably the understatement of the year.

Very sad to see the news about Ribalta. He did well and made a BIG impression on me with his post game interview yesterday. High quality guy. Just the type of “locker room influence” our young pitchers ( Cade Cavalli?) need.

Very happy Jacob Young is ok, however….

The Fox5 pregame is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE and the Nats GM for marketing is equally bad . Just spouting marketing, PR bs.

Nats business side should step forward and offer a competive game guarantee. If Nats down by more than five at end of 5th inning - free like for like tickets for another game this season. This would demonstrate accountability to providing a major league product to the paying fans.

Excellent idea.

Let's keep the offense cooking and the pitching at least decent for the weekend. String together some CURLY W's! GO NATS!!

Loading up on lefty relievers before the Braves come to town. That's my guess as to why it's Lovelady over Ribalta.

All I can say is, it's Friday night after a hell-work week. Still working, in fact. But watching this game nevertheless! Go NATS!!!

We are underway on a beautiful-but-breezy, 80-degree Friday evening at Nationals Park, where they appear to have cranked up the sound system considerably since the last homestand.

Oh dear and I’m guessing you forgot the earplugs

The great Tony Williams in the house.

Nunez with his speed catches a foul ball. that was a long way to go.

Nats don't like playing at home.

That's the sixth homer surrendered this season by Littell, but the first non-solo homer. This was a damaging three-run shot to center by Ramos off a splitter that stayed up just a bit too much.

cipherlockinexile's avatar

Littell is getting hammered.

CBinDC's avatar

This team really really hates playing in DC ....why ? so bad at home is it they don't want to disappoint the visiting customers

WilNievesWalkoff's avatar

We’re going to see Lovelady soon.

Mark's avatar

And he showed why he is so frequently DFAed.

Are we watching batting practice.
