Great news about Seaver King. Looking forward to tracking his progress. I wonder if Fitz- Gerald moves to AA.

CheetahBunny's avatar

It will be interesting to follow where Seaver plays in AAA.

NME's avatar

Yeah. If they play him at SS, then its a clue they are leaning towards selling CJ.

3 of the 4 batters we got in the Gore trade are really hitting well this season. Only the guy that was supposed to be the most MLB ready, Ortiz, seems to be struggling.

Doug Herbert's avatar

It's a strange environment, but it's still worth noting that Seaver King also tore up the Arizona Fall League in 2025 as well, with a 1.031 OPS. Earlier this month, Baseball America moved King into its Top 100 MiLB prospects, at # 99.

I have become cautious on prospect hype before we see how they do in the majors… but does anyone have a best case vs an expected comparison on Seaver King at a future MLB date?

Should be an interesting week with the Mets in town. Are these Nats for real? Have the Mets maybe turned the corner back to respectability? Irvin needs a good outing tonight.

gonatsgo1's avatar

The Mets A.J. Ewing has made a fairly big splash in his short career (called up last week I think). Been part of their recent resurgence.

Jim Mulligan's avatar

So, is Perales a lefty or a righty? Could make a big difference on whether the injury is a big deal or a small deal. Guess I’ll do my own research.

Jim Mulligan's avatar

He’s a righty. Could be a big deal

Glad I got to see Seaver King when Harrisburg came through Bowie last September. Keibert Ruiz was on rehab then and looked very rusty. Clemmey pitched well that series. The baby Nats will be in Bowie June 23-28. Looking forward to catching some games.

gonatsgo1's avatar

Thanks for that. I usually try to catch them over there.

what happens when the Nationals take 3 of 4 from the Mets?

Negative Nannie’s are left speechless

Let’s do it

dcNatz's avatar

From the Mets or Nats? Most Nats fans I’ve seen have been fairly positive, and even forgiving when things haven’t gone well. This season is the most positive I’ve seen Nats fans in a very long time.

david behnke's avatar

We have a couple but you are correct that this is a very positive site

dcNatz's avatar

Even over on FBb. If anything, fans are overly forgiving and praising, and I’ve seen a lot of things for fans to complain about but they largely haven’t….but that’s cool. Let this young manager have some space to learn. On FBb I simply got tired of the constant comparisons to throw rocks at the old regime, when this one is a glass house within itself. But I’m proud of this new staff. Now if we were still on MASN? Ha! The regular trolls would be showing up after every single loss. They aren’t here because they don’t want to pay the fee (lol) which is a good thing.

david behnke's avatar

Ran into some really hateful supposed Nats fans on Reddit and just blocked all Nat related messages. I was really surprised

I don’t follow posts on Reddit. Isn’t it a free space also, like FBb? Free spaces that have weak or no moderator keeping things civilized, just invites hatefulness. FBb is policed pretty well. Talk Nats was free for a long time but those guys who manage it kept it clean. Fans get after each other, but for the right reasons….they just love the team in different ways. Miss it there but can’t justify paying at two different sites.

Would the Mets manager get yet another vote of confidence? LOL

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

We are underway on a scorching, 94-degree Monday evening at Nationals Park.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Make certain that you stay hydrated, too, tonight and the rest of this series.

Dave Nemec's avatar

Is that Marlins Man sitting behind the plate or is it a cosplayer?

Dave Nemec's avatar

And if it’s a cosplayer (which I suspect), that’s a bit odd.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Nice inning, Jake. How about 5 or 6 more of those?

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Great start, Jake gets thru the 1st. And Juan Soto BUNTS. Will take that every time.

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

If you're Carlos Mendoza, do you really want Juan Soto taking the cheap bunt single there instead of swinging away? Certainly not when your next two batters strike out. Jake Irvin's velocity was way up that inning: 95 mph fastball, 83 mph curveball. He threw 14-of-17 pitches for strikes. But as always with him, can he sustain it?

Like watching little league

Dave Nemec's avatar

Yikes. James, that was ugly.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Franny's right - Butera is not going to like that.

Fortunately I’m listening to C & D.

For some reason the radio audio is not working on my MLB.tv/Nationals.tv on my TV via Roku. You can select audio from 106.7 but just get the TV audio anyway. It used to work as desired (video + radio audio) on the TV but hasn’t for days. Meanwhile it does work using the MLB app on my iPad…but I want the bigger picture. Is anyone else having this issue? Sorry if I’m not describing the bug clearly.

Dave Nemec's avatar

I had the same issue - apparently Roku did an update on Friday and it depends on what version Roku you have, if you can't get the audio.

I actually bought a Roku TV yesterday to replace the Roku stick I had in my Samsung TV. $150 at Best Buy.

Bill S formerly dclivejazz's avatar

Thanks for the response. My Roku outboard streaming box software is supposedly up to date. I tried logging out of MLB.tv and logging back in. No dice. Guess I have to wait until the next Roku update. Meanwhile I will contact MLB.tv support. Thx again/

Dave Nemec's avatar

Yeah, it was frustrating. We needed a new TV anyway, but every fix I tried failed. Good luck.

Have you tried logging out of MLB, running a Roku update, then logging back in to MLB?

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

I've noticed that James just flings the throw as soon as he reaches the ball, without really having an idea WHERE he's throwing it. BAD results there, and bad backup fundamentals.

Skum8247's avatar

2 errors on one play…not a stat you want

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

That's two errors on Wood on one play (bobble allowing the batter to reach second, bad throw allowing him to reach third) and it cost the Nats, who now trail 1-0.
