Jacob aka Spiderman is back!

Glad he’s better

Hondo's avatar

I second that emotion, your honor!

CALSGR8's avatar

Ever since he made that “keep the ball in the air” catch last year; in addition to the one on Saturday! That’s what I call him!

On STH Autograph day he and Alien (CJ) were sitting together! I called Jacob Spiderman and he smiled! lol

MacMom54's avatar

I think we are seeing the reason he won the team’s Heart and Hustle award last year. Cannot keep him down. That was quite a shot he took to the ribs. One day off??

CALSGR8's avatar

That was Sat. And he’s coming in tonite. So it’s been a few days.

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

It was Monday night, 1st game of the Mets series. Today is Wednesday.

CALSGR8's avatar

Oops😳 Senior moment!

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Yeah, seeing how flush it hit him I feared the worst. No padding in the ribcage area. Gotta be a good-sized bruise if nothing else.

Bernie Gilbert's avatar

Everybody was saying Jacob Young would be out multiple weeks with a rib bone contusion.

What happened?

That's not a complaint!

cipherlockinexile's avatar

Clearly, the injury was not as bad as it looked when it happened. I don't think anyone is complaining about that.

Bernie Gilbert's avatar

He looked like he could hardly breathe. The first couple of times I saw his name in today's lineup I was thinking somebody messed up. I'd love to hear the explanation for what happened.

peter wood's avatar

Maybe JY found a new Dr.:)) Just kidding; glad he can play now

mongo's avatar

Is Doctor Robert on the staff?

Dave Nemec's avatar

He does everything he can, Doc Robert.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

The doctor, doctor give him rib stats, and JY said, I got a bad case of lovin' Nats!!

peter wood's avatar

That one really cracked me up!!

Piero's avatar

Could still happen. He doesn't want to lose his starting spot to Crews.

MacMom54's avatar

Crews has a ways to go if that’s ever going to happen.

nats1fan's avatar

Amen to that. Nats have a long history of screwing with center fielders.

peter wood's avatar

Maybe so, but they are not gonna screw with JY, the stud HR hitter:))

John walker's avatar

Let’s make the MLB debut for the Mets’ starting pitcher as memorable it was yesterday for their left fielder!

Geordie Keitt's avatar

To be fair that catch he made reaching in the stands was pretty elite

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Yes, and the GS play bounced off his glove in the jump. CF Taylor lost sight of the ricochet & Morabito got to the ball 1st. Not his fault, just a (strange) baseball play.

peter wood's avatar

Hope they can play tonight!!

Piero's avatar

Another of our Livo-like starters. Hope he can get a good grip on the ball given the humidity et al.

Any early word or prediction on rain delay?

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Started here in College Park @5PM and radar line shows maybe 2+ hrs medium volume, so playing weather man (always dangerous!) I would say not earlier than 8:30 or 9PM start time if then. Does Butera push Littell/Alvarez back one day or maybe go to Cavalli (?) next? I would suppose the push back option.

Bill S formerly dclivejazz's avatar

The number of rain delays and uncertainty about possible postponements is the most frustrating aspect of going to Nats games. I have tickets for tonight’s game but am pessimistic about it getting in tonight, and making it up tomorrow doesn’t look good either. Since it might be complicated to reschedule, they may drag out deciding to postpone it. I’m going to put off heading down to the Park, but occasionally that has turned out to be a mistake, too. It won’t happen anytime soon, but with the weather around here, the Nats could use a stadium with an enclosable roof.

gonatsgo1's avatar

I posted about this situation in my Game Report this morning.

I understand it's not always easy, but as a season ticket holder I've had some very frustrating experiences in how the Nats handle weather.

Good luck this evening!

It’s Zach vs Zack

Nats Fan in Exile's avatar

I think Zach will win…!

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

It's looking like heavy rain/thunderstorms from 9 pm to 10 pm, but pretty clear until then. I wonder if they will start at 6:45. If they do I hope they get through the top of the 5th with the Nats leading by 1 - 10 runs!! Short game CURLY W!!

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Sounds like a plan that I can definitely get behind.

Bernie Gilbert's avatar

Devious. I like the way you think. 🤨

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

Game status update: The grounds crew has been prepping the field for play, Keibert Ruiz is playing catch in the outfield and they're about to open the press box windows. First pitch at 6:45 p.m.

Bernie Gilbert's avatar

We have tickets for tomorrow's 4:05 game. My weather app says 50-60% chance of rain. We've only been to one game so far this season, and I don't like the way this is going. Is there someone I can write to? 🤨🤔

gonatsgo1's avatar

I hear you.

I've already done a ticket exchange for tomorrow's game.

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

It's cooled down to 79 degrees, and there may be rain at some point later, but we are underway on time.

Dave Nemec's avatar

Let's go, boys. Get back to .500 and back to a tie for 2nd in the NL East.

Nats Fan in Exile's avatar

A lot of homers lately from the Mets. Holding my breath with Littell on the mound…

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Take THAT JY! LOL

Skum8247's avatar

Nice start for the home team

Skum8247's avatar

Make that a REALLY nice start!
