Once again, it’s a house divided. Might not be much conversation at my house this weekend. 🤣 Plus I told my husband I’d be in ATL for the July series and going to at least 2 games, hopefully 3. He took it “well”.
I have 38 years experience providing individual psychotherapy and couples counseling. Evidenced based treatment says people whose spouses root for opponents of the Nats have significant dysfunction in their marriages. Not to worry, one of my favorite sayings is, "Not everything that matters can be measured, and not everything that can be measured matters." The best solution is: GO NATS!!
A reality check. Hopefully, the “reality” is Nats indeed are AT LEAST a .500 team and, as an article in The Athletic yesterday headlined, worthy of a “why not us?” mindset….😀
I live 15 miles away in Kennesaw and WISH it had been raining here! Instead, I’ve been power washing the pool deck. Hopefully the pool guy comes tomorrow and opens it for us. Thought this would be a quick job but I’ve been at it almost 7 hours.
Weather update: They've removed the tarp and they're prepping the infield, but there's still 90 minutes til first pitch, so who knows if it will stay dry until then.
Injury updates:
* Cole Henry threw 1.1 IP for Rochester on Wed, will pitch there again this weekend
* DJ Herz threw live BP (22 pitches), Trevor Williams threw a bullpen (30 pitches) Wed in West Palm Beach
I sure hope they can pull off a CURLY W or two against a team that seems to be a tad warm. Quality ABs, solid defense and pitching would be a delight to see from the Nats! Lets go Nats!!
106.4 mph off the bat from Dylan Crews. Unfortunately, on the ground. That's one of the big things he was working on at Triple-A and was seeing more success prior to his promotion.

We are going to the game on Sunday, and my wife has already bought a Braves shirt. But I’ll be rocking the Curly W!

Crews given every opportunity to succeed. Let’s see how he does.
Who would have thought a few years ago that Dom Smith would DH for first place team.
They are really happy with him down here also.
Never. He was great with the glove at first and not even fair at the plate.

I read that in the NY Times. I liked the article and believe the Nats are proving this could be sustainable.
The NYT sports section IS The Arhletic these days; was forwarded to me as an Athletic piece…
Yep. I can read a certain number of articles for free on the Times, but don't pay for the Athletic.

Eli Willits is out of Fredericksburg’s lineup for a fourth straight day. Is there any indication what is going on? Thank you.
Definitely starting to be concerning. Hope we get some news soon.
Rochester scored 5 runs on 8 hits in 1st inning. They continue to rake, top to bottom in lineup
Pinckney with another home run. He should be up instead of Crews.
Mets DFA'd Craig Kimbrel
JY!!
I was never really a fan of Grandpa Craig.
Me neither, but Nats should grab him.
And we're underway on time. It's 73 muggy degrees here at first pitch.

I hope JW can get to a place where he can foul off those on the black inside pitches.
. . . and there goes the no hitter!
Lovelady makes it through the 1st. He went 1.1 innings in his last start as opener (last Sunday).

He’s got to get the ball in the air. Ground balls are outs at the ML level
Another ground ball from Crews. Ugh. 2-12 now.
Elder makes quick work of the Nats in the 2nd.
