May their memory be a blessing, Mark.

I’ve spent the last three weeks out of the country and Mark has kept me perfectly in touch with the team. Look forward to tonight’s game without having missed a beat as to what’s going on!

Geordie Keitt's avatar

It’s a nice feeling right?

I was in Japan, so I was able to get my baseball fix at a few NPB games but they weren’t my Nats. Although I must say America is absolutely getting pantsed in the gameday experience department…

What do I have to do to get a $6 beer from a girl wearing a keg as a backpack at Nats Park?

Send it in to the new Ops guy. They're taking fan suggestions!

A lot of it is down to broader cultural institutions which needs fans to be more engaged (dedicated sections in the outfield for the fans singing songs/chants, away section for opposing fans, basically all the passion of European/South American soccer without the toxicity) but the variety of food was awesome and would probably forward that. But the girls with the kegs man…couldn’t get over that. They picked up how tickled I was by it too. I had like 8 I swear to god I just wanted to see it again every time.

If you were at Nats Park singing a song or chanting, what would you want to be singing or chanting? I ask myself this a lot. I think it would be fun to have two sections yelling back and forth. Section A says “Where’s he gonna take ‘em?” And Section B says “To the Woooodshed!” “Take the pitcher where?” “To the Wooooodshed!” “Who’s gonna take ‘em?” “Jimmy Wood!” “How’s he gonna thrash ‘em?” “Thrash ‘m good!” Something like that. And singing? Forget about it! Imagine the opposing pitcher warming up for the bottom of the first and the stadium singing “You don’t tug on Superman’s cape, You don’t spit into the wind, You don’t pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger and you don’t mess around with Jim!” And then James Wood comes to bat... I think that would be fun.

“We hear all kinds of feedback,” said Sinnarajah. “It could be the food, it could be how we do the promotions, the music. Everybody has an opinion. The biggest thing that we want to do is that they feel heard.”

And I've been hiking in Grand Teton National Park, reading Mark's recaps, listening to Nats Chat on the trail (Galdi's voice keeps the bears away), and thanks to some rain delays, even catching a couple of late innings on Nats TV.

I'm depending on Mark to keep me informed when possible. I'm leaving tomorrow for a month-long Alaska adventure.

Mead may have played his way into being the regular third baseman. He is starting against a righty, not lefty bats Vivas or Tena. Maybe I just didn’t notice it being done before or might be a match up data thing, but if it does signal Mead has the job now on the regular I am fine with it!

DCSportsfan63's avatar

And he just hit another one!

Jonathan Ruddo's avatar

Tena doesn’t do a whole lot for me, and the less said about Vivas the better. I’m in favor!

gonatsgo1's avatar

Is it me or has the line up settled a bit into some level of familiarity?

It’s going to be key for Nats pitchers to throw first-pitch strikes. Guardians put only 31% of first pitches in an AB in play, lowest in the league. They also average 4.09 pitches per AB, tops in MLB.

They are very patient, and draw a lot of walks.

Throw strikes!!

My condolences.

Hope the Nats play well tonight and get a CURLY W!!

Sympathies for Mark's loss.

I was watching the Rochester game against Syracuse. Seaver King, on his first at bat in the Red Wings home park, hit a home run. Morales also knocked a couple of RBIs. 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th.

Tom Seaver King is making the case. I think it’s more than just a hot streak and his stats can’t be ignored too long. Same for Morales even if his defense isn’t all that great.

James knew it! Great start tonight.

Letting them know Nats came to play

Only a HR and double to start the game. Jobu must be going to the rum early for the Guardians
