Let's hope for a reset and catch some fish today.

Thanks for the article.

I like today's lineup, it is the strongest one the Nats can offer

Is it time to bring back Mr. House and Weimer and let go Vivas, Tena. and or Andres..

Try Weimer in a rotation at 1st..

Let's go Nats. 😀

Serious question do you have House and Weimer on your Roto/ fantasy team?

Carl Rosendorf's avatar

I do not gamble, it's distasteful

david behnke's avatar

I figured he was involved in one of those predication rackets

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

You do know Weimer has not even played ⅓ of an inning at 1st base and that his bat is not popping in Rochester?

Dave Nemec's avatar

I believe he's just trolling us. He makes the same comment often, even after all of the reasons and statistics showing that his statement is laughable.

Ignoring and/or muting is the best course of action.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

Sounds like a plan to me! Maybe a fish fanatic.

Brandon Persinger's avatar

Actually, I think placing a Polymarket bet that he mentions Weimer playing first is the best course of action.

But then, yes, definitely yours.

Dave Nemec's avatar

That is brilliant!

Agree Vivas should be sent down. Have House and Weimer had enough time in the minors to fix the issues they were sent down for? My guess is probably not. Perhaps a better approach would be to give someone else fm the minors a chance.

LOVE the line up today! Note to Mark: you forgot to change the starter in the line-up list from Lovelady to Alvarez, which is a no harm no foul situation I know…

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

Insert facepalm emoji.

Thanks for catching that! Just fixed it.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

I hope the sleepy offense wakes up to the tune of 8+ runs today (even though Max Thomas Meyer seems to be pitching well this season) and that Alverez goes at least 6, if not 7, innings of excellent pitching and a quality start. GO NATS!!

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

We are underway on a sun-splashed, 79-degree Wednesday afternoon at Nationals Park.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

Nice 1st inning by Alverez!

Nats pitching continues to make the Marlins look like the '27 Yankees. SMH

Mark Zuckerman's avatar

Good: Keibert Ruiz threw out another basestealer.

Bad: Andrew Alvarez promptly gave up a towering homer off the foul pole to Esteury Ruiz to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead (which could've been 2-0 if not for Ruiz's throw).

Cursing Fish and their HRs

While feeling thankful for Keibert.

Mark P's avatar

Again, the Marlins came into DC with a 5 game losing streak. ugh

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Yes, the Nats too often seem to be the cure for what ails them.

However, plenty of game left to turn that around.

Mark P's avatar

Haven't we been saying that for the last two nights?

Third time's the charm!

Dave Nemec's avatar

I'm kinda glad they don't play Miami again for a while.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

I can't believe that the Nats don't have a plan of how to approach those guys, at the plate or on the mound. Why they can't execute it - a mental block where the Fish are concerned?

Dave Nemec's avatar

I mean, right? They have 20% of their homeruns vs. the Nats - either they know something the Nats don't, or the Nats scouting reports are off.

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Or our pitchers are not executing the game plans and they punish the mistakes..

Dave Nemec's avatar

I'd be willing to bet that's more likely.

peter wood's avatar

I'd be willing to bet lots of betting dollars have changed hands regarding this series:))

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Leadoff Fish batters seem to get on base a LOT against us. Not sure what the stats are but seems that way.

Mark P's avatar

Same story despite the new regime. It's unexplainable. The Nats can't hit Marlins pitching and Nats pitching can't keep the Marlins from hitting 'em out!

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

I don't mind a solo dinger. WAKE UP OFFENSE! GET SOME DINGERS OF OUR OWN!!

Mark P's avatar

Aside from the Gopher ball, Alvarez is looking much sharper today. Now if the Nats bats could just get going.

Dave Nemec's avatar

This kid Joe Mack is going to be a player to watch.

Good AB by LGJr there

Dave Nemec's avatar

And not a good AB by Nuñez

Tegwar's avatar

Garcia is becoming a patient hitter??? I've seen a change at least by situation.

Dave Nemec's avatar

Fouling off some good two-strike pitches, too.

Tegwar's avatar

Yes surprising.

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

OK Dylan, gotta make that pitch around backfire.
