Sitting outside in Navy Yard and hoping for a fun game!

I'll be joining in 3, 2, 1...

Edit: Night and day on the weather from Sunday afternoon. You can bottle this.

Btw, Homestead Grays jersey giveaway.

Oh it’s delightful weather tonight in comparison to Sunday! Currently sitting on the Diamond Club patio and debating whether I should move to my seat.

MikeeFish's avatar

It’s probably more fun on the inside. 🤣

I know the general response is that the extra rest is partly responsible for Keibert Ruiz's good performance, but I wish they would test that theory a little more. It does seem Millas and Griffin are working well together ... and when Millas does hit it is frequently well timed, but Ruiz good performance is worth some reward. He's proven to be a good receiver and he has a better eye for the strike zone challenges.

Someone asked about the allstar game and I would certainly vote for him as a fan, but the Braves, Rockies and Brewers all have full time production deserving of the award. Baldwin just got back from the injured list and that guy is likely the NL Allstar for the next few years.

Keibert has shown dramatic improvement, to be sure. But he's no All Star. Middle of the pack, maybe a hair higher this year. But after the last 3 years, middle of the pack is awesome.

Wasn’t able to watch or listen to the game last night. Did Lane Thomas get a nice ovation? Haven’t been able to find anything about it.

Tom Milani's avatar

He got some nice applause.

gonatsgo1's avatar

Not as loud as Robles on Friday.

Getting interviewed on the pre-game by Charlie.

Thomas did get a nice reaction from the crowd. Attendance was only 14,444, so I guess it didn’t qualify as an ovation.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought the SF debacle followed by the home opening loss to Seattle was the other shoe dropping. Return to the mean, and all that.

That appears not to be the case and I couldn't be happier to see it. I am continually pleasantly surprised by this group of players and their leaders.

I think I can safely speak for the board that we are all pleasantly surprised and hope it can continue.

Nice to see Mead getting the start against the righty…. Am in the Bronx tonight to see how real the Pope’s team might be against a quality AL foe but my heart is in Navy Yard! Clinch this freakin’ series, boys!

My superstition for the Nats is I have been asking for decent pitching, and the offense to score their frequent 6 - 8+ runs. They keep doing that, so I am asking for it again tonight, resulting in a SEASON WINNING CURLY W!!

LEE MCDOWELL's avatar

Nats have their best starter going tonight (maybe our stopper?) & hope Griffin can give the boys at least six good innings with a reasonable pitch count. Wacha has given them problems in the past tho, so also hoping the bats stay hot too. Nice to see Crews improving at the plate. Let's get to Plus 4 with another series win!

Wacha's. ERA his last 3 games is double digits, I think!

Dave Nemec's avatar

4.50 over his last 3 games. 9 ER in 18 innings.

His last 2 games have been pretty solid.

I loke my stats better, even if they are way wrong. I thought I saw that on the MLB pregame video.

Just walked through the gate and put on my Grays jersey. Beautiful evening. Nice jersey.

And we're underway on just a lovely 78-degree Tuesday evening in Washington, D.C.

That was only the 4th bunt hit of Luis Garcia Jr.'s career, his first since 2024.

If you want to see what a dreadful game behind the plate that Chad Whitson had yesterday, check it out on X at @umpscorecards. 87% overall accuracy and 87% consistency. (Sorry, I can't find a way to upload it here.)

Dave Nemec's avatar

Yeah. He was bad.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

Not seeing the quality ABs tonight - Yet!!

I was at Busch Stadium for that Wacha almost-no-hitter when Zim came to the rescue late in the game…whew

Nunez mea culpa for last night I'd say.
