Article on chances of Seaver King being called up. Like Crews, we’re back to walk rates and chase rates etc. He looks like he’s ready but I must be the only one.
I highly doubt we will see him this year, with a lockout impending. I would hope they wouldn't risk having him miss any development time next year if the owners decide to cut their noses off to spite their faces(i.e., cancel regular season games).
I didn't think any baseball decisions are (or should) be made based on the assumption that we'd lose all our party of the season. They absolutely should assume we'll have a lockout and a compressed spring training.
Very happy today. I finally broke with my boycott of MLBtv and the unfair practices of charging for a full season but still blacking out many games each year. I still don’t like the practice and hope they eventually fix it. But today, combining both my retired military discount to their Father’s Day sale, I do have the remainder of the season now for $38. Not too bad for a little more than half the season left.
They will fix it just wont be this season. Manfred stated that as one of goals for his last term as commissioner. Ending the blackouts. Starting next year, once the games are moved to the ESPN strraming platform, any team under the league media rights umbrella is not supposed to be blacked out when playing other teams under the umbrella. By 2029, 28 out of 30 teams should be under the umbrella as only the Dodgers and the Yankees have RSN contracts that go past 2028.
It will also make revenue sharing much easier once everyone is paid through the same media rights deal.
His first two tasks in Diaz and Aranda who kill righties. If he can get through them without giving up damage he should be good for a bit. I doubt he lets him pitch to them a 3rd time unless they are up by a few runs and no one is on when either comes to the plate. They both own OPS north of .900 versus righties and a 3rd time is extreme danger zone.
Maybe an opener here might work pretty well. Get past the tops of the order and maybe Cavalli gets past the lineup into the third time around. I used to hate the opener idea, but it has grown on me and I think the Nats have used it MUCH more than any other team in baseball.
I don’t know about Cade, but I would not have any stamina the day after having food poisoning. Hope he doesn’t run out of gas too quick.
Just like the Mariners, we’ve got the Rays perfectly set up for a curly W series win (I know that is probably redundant but two wins makes sense!)
Here's hoping Cade doesn't give up any.....
-wait for it-
.....runs.
I'll escort myself out.
(Headline should be Nats at Rays) 🙂
I prefer this lineup over last nights and feel like a run-eruption is coming our way.
I seem to remember that the Nats record is much better vs lefty starters.
PLEASE~ Decent pitching, the not unusual 6 - 8+ runs, and a CURLY W!! LET'S GO NATS!!

Thanks for the link. Pretty decent analysis.

Franny thinks Cade looks "deliberate" today. I'm inclined to agree. Hope he's 100% or close to it.
Hopefully he settles in!
I think i have food poisoning. Coulda been a lot worse! LET'S GO BIG O!!
Cavalli looking like a guy with food poisoning.
Great 6-4-3 there!
CJ ABRAMS IS A BEAST! AND JUST LIKE THAT A DINGER . . .
CJ goes far yard!
I knew Abrams was going to hit his rough patch streak eventually, but i am impressed with the speed at which it ended
