Miles Mikolas is not starting, so there is hope. I knew it was going to be bad when fans of every NL Central team started maniacally laughing when we signed him but I didn’t expect him to be that bad. Hoping for any of our AAA starters to show out enough to warrant a promotion and DFA Mikolas. Be very unlikely for Irvin to do worse!

Oh no! Without Mark, I’m not sure this demur and quiet community could muster up the courage to share their opinions! 😜

Life must be good for Alex Call since his trade to the Dodgers. Good post-season and getting a start from the World champs.

Spencer Nusbaum just confirmed this tweet from Jack Harris (Dodgers beat writer):

"Man, as the Dodgers were doing their pregame stretches along the third base line just now, Alex Call got drilled by a ball from a Nationals hitter taking BP.

Went down for a minute, but got up smiling & seems to be OK. He’s in the lineup for his first start of the season tonight."

Hope he truly is okay!

Enjoy your family time and let them know how much we appreciate them allowing us to steal as much of your time as we do. We can be a needy group some days but not today.

Hope you have a great day, Mark. It's a beautiful day for baseball, and I'll be out there again hoping for a better pitching performance from the Nats' hurlers. I suppose it couldn't really be worse...

Is there a reason Wiemer isn’t starting any of these games? It seems like Butera doesn’t usually start him against RHPs which is all the Dodgers are using this series.

You just answered your own question.

These guys play matchups. Get used to it.

At least he's still up here. Chapparo played well in his two games then got sent to Rochester.

Chapparo hit but his fielding was poor

Ok Why is the PREGAME for the Nationals showing other highlights from around the league as if this was Sportscenter and not the Nationals TV broadcast and no analysis or discussion on why the debacle from yesterday and what they should maybe do to prevent it from happening again

MacMom54's avatar

I think maybe nationals tv is owned and operated by MLB.

NOT an auspicious start for Mead over there...

Well we will always have Chicago

Irvin limits the damage. 2-0 L.A.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Fingers crossed that he can continue that for another 5 or 6 iinings!

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Guess not. Sigh. Ding dang Dodgers.

So on with life as this became a train wreck with a dumpster fire so early and our crack broadcast staff suddenly disavow all knowledge of covering the Nationals

Concur with all the good wishes for time off. Take road trips off as well if you need. No worries.

Mookie Betts leaves game with lower back pain.

Danger zone: Bases full of Dodgers, one out.
