Tena batting third again? Why?

Stephen Jobe's avatar

I know our offense has been very good so far but can’t believe we can’t do better than Tena or Chaparro batting 3rd.

"...it took more than two hours to get there Friday afternoon..." At rush hour on a Friday afternoon? I can't imagine why... 🤔

Most definitely time for a CURLY W. How about it guys? Let's get after it and get back on a winning track!

GO NATS!!

If the clubhouse spread has crab cakes eat one for me hon!

I don’t get why they don’t call up either YoYo or Abby Ortiz to replace Tena. I guess they think both guys are better playing everyday at AAA, but they’re both 24. If not now, when?

Someone spoke to this issue last night. Let's see if I can remember and correctly summarize. If Morales and Ortiz come up, they're put on the 40 man roster. If there is a lockout next year, they wouldn't be able to play at Rochester. I think that's what I was told.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

Yes, as well as they both do need to play every day.

That explanation last night where Morales is concerned was a gamechanger for me. I'm willing to wait if it will let our best prospects play next year. I have a high degree of suspicion and confidence that we're going to lose a lot of the 2027 season. Both sides are already dug in.

Yeah, I used to have baseball friends in NoVa years ago and recall their crazy drives to OPACY. But I even remember them doing it to Memorial Stadium! Not fun. Pack a lunch!

I thank you Mr. Zuckerman for your efforts getting to the ball game through the typical horrible DC Northern Virginia Baltimore commute. I just retired after 45 years of doing that so I can commiserate, boy can I commiserate. Let’s sit back tonight and watch a curly W and I can’t wait for your report. Always eagerly anticipate your writings.

Nice night for baseball — and nice O’s fans at park! We will be outnumbered but enough of us here to represent!

Mark, what do you know about Eddy Yean? He seems to be pitching well in Rochester and had a very good year with Pittsburgh AAA going 8-5 with 3.06 ERA. But never hear anything about him.

A Quality AB from Garcia and/or Tena would be nice.

That was the first time the Nationals have taken a walk in 15 innings

Wow, THAT'S a telling stat.

I can't think of any good reason to have home plate umpires call balls and strikes. the 2-challenge thing is so arbitrary. Use the ABS for every . .. every ball and strike

hysdavid's avatar

It'll happen soon, due to gambling.

I agree but understand MLB likes the drama around challenges. Really.

Griff's misses are really missing. 27 pitches in the first - I hope he can settle in next inning and give them some length.

Tegwar's avatar

Doesn't have command of a lot of his pitches. He throwing them all he trying to find what's working.

Susan H aka pitchingfan's avatar

Hopefully he figures that out soon.

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

Let's go Nats! Scoring first is great. Multiplying it by 8 is 8 times greater!

Is Ward a normal OF? Didn't look like it on Daylen's fly ball. Took a strange route, maybe just a misread?

Tegwar's avatar

Also had no chance to throw Lile at home should've thrown to second.
