When he WAS up here, or in ST, I never really liked his attitude. Something about him rubbed me the wrong way. (Can't really explain it.) So, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he wasn't the most open to suggestions.
I want to say, I’m a little sad to see him go, on 106.7 he was interviewed and was all in on the new changes brought in, and was talking about just how amazing the feedback cycle and getting to work with the new coaches is. He seems like a hard worker, it just doesn’t always pan out for everyone
I had no problem with his attitude - it was his performance that I didn't like. He hardly ever put up good numbers as a Nats farmhand, and when he finally did well at Rochester last year they brought him up and he hit poorly in 200 ABs. And then this year, he's continued to hit poorly back in AAA. They have 4 young OFs in the majors who are ahead of him, and others in the minors who they apparently like more.
What have you liked about Hassell? He’s done next to nothing in his AAA time this year, at this point if we need to call up another outfielder it’d be someone else
Purely potential. Like Dylan, would like to see him get a chance to figure things out. But if Taboni et al. Didn’t see any progress and maybe the opposite (fighting instruction etc) might well be the right move to unload him. But I think the DzfS thing may cut into ability to get much for him. Then again, it’s not exactly Taboni’s first rodeo so…
This Peacock-only stuff isn't really great. I'll listen to Charlie and Dave call the game but if I'm buying a Nats TV subscription I should get every single game.
Nats and Bucs are underway on a hazy, 92-degree Sunday afternoon in D.C. Cade Cavalli back on the mound for the first time since his dominant/eventful start at Fenway Park on Tuesday.
Charlie on the radio notes that today's game determines the tiebreaker if the teams should tie for a wild card. Interesting, who'da thunk it about either of these teams this year?
Not loud contact, but the Pirates nevertheless have plated a pair of runs off Cade Cavalli here in the top of the 2nd. Similar to how they scored off Carson Palmquist/Zack Littell yesterday.
No JY for the second day in a row.
Beginning of the end for him as starting CF?
I think they like the 4-man rotation providing each a "DH day off"
I doubt it. He was out yesterday with a hand problem. It's probably still bothering him.
DIdn't know about the hand issue - thanks!
No problem. I like JY a lot, so I tend to keep an eye on him. :-)
Heck no
So many relievers to demote or DFA and they release Hassell? In Paul I trust, but this is testing me…
He's batted .215 with 67 strike outs vs. 47 hits since his demotion. I would have to guess he is not adapting to suggests on improving.

Thanks for this, natsclop. I hate to have a bad opinion of anyone, and this makes me feel a bit better about him.

And here I thought that Hassell was going to be the cream of the Soto crop.
Shows what little I know 🙂↕️
My MLB.tv subscription is completely useless today. I'm not pleased.
Is Jacob still healing?
Thank you

I feel the same way with having the mlb.tv package whose see all the games promo is hogwash now with their blackouts.

PSA: If you have YouTube TV, you MAY be able to watch this game on NBCSN Extra (whatever that is).
I have YouTube TV, and yes, that is correct.
I also thought it was the usual 1:35 start...
Go Kolko!
Say more!
Dan’s worked hard to get where he is and I hope he does great and people outside the DC area take note.
Sorry to see him go, but I trust the front office brass and think they know what they are doing.
Luis Garcia the pitcher has made an appearance on the Peacock broadcast (as the wrong picture for Luis Garcia Jr)
figures - bush league broadcast!
Reinforcing why Peacock handling games is ridiculous
LET'S GET A SERIES WINNING CURLY W GUYS!!
Maybe last word on Hassell: wonder if Toboni shopped him, he obviously had no takers. Maybe something can be worked out over the next few days.

RATS!!
