The yanks are most certainly not playing their "A" line-up.. It doesn't matter to me at all. I want to see how our guys do in game situations. I hope we *see* some good pitching, hitting, and fielding tonight and we still are in the early days of ST and preseason games.
Very excited to see Alvarez, who has always been a favorite of mine (I’m a huge sucker for pitchability lefties), and to see what if any stuff gains he made this offseason
Wait! So you get all of our subscription dollars, and now you’re sitting on your couch for the next few weeks? Just kidding. Enjoy the time at home. I have no doubt we will still get to enjoy your great reporting and insights.
Absolutely correct. I don’t want to get hysterical at this early juncture, but the fact is… we’ve never seen him play even decent baseball. The possibility of his opening the season in Syracuse is not (or shouldn’t be) infinitely remote, give the outfield talent we have.
I thought Crews was actually getting into an upswing before the injury that sidelined him awhile last season. Granted, he had a painfully slow start before that and had to ramp up again afterwards.
Oh, not at all, look up Billy Beane (not the A’s guy - I think - but a #1 or #2 draft pick who did less than Crews has already done….Clint Hurdle never really panned out either….draft busts are part of the game….every team gets bit eventually.
That said, I’m worried about Crews, too - he may need to spend time - or a career - at AAA if he can’t produce. Clean slate, right?
He would be the Kwame Brown of the MLB and we have not seen one INNING of production from him that justifies the HIGH draft position in now two seasons
One inning? That’s not true. He had some decent to truly good games last season. Overall, he’s looking like “bust” territory, but it’s far, far too early to write him off. (Kwame Brown was a #1 pick, I believe - Thanks for nothing, MJ!!)
Tres Barrera is back! Whatever happened with his lawsuit about the PED accusations? It seemed like he might have gotten a raw (or half-baked) deal there.
I watched every live BP last week. I have watched or listened to every ST game thus far. I have yet to see Joey Wiemer make contact with a baseball on any single swing
Enjoy being home, Mark! Thanks so much for the tremendous reporting you’ve done.

Very early I know but Crews does not look good
If Crews would benefit from time in AAA, I would hope the team would be willing to do it. There has been something missing at the plate.
When does the “slow start to Spring Training” label get applied to players, is Crews toeing that line?
He began the 2025 regular season 0 for 18.
If I'm not mistaken, Crews is O-fer spring training. Strikes out in his first AB tonight.

Which why they may want to hang on to Hassell and Young

Crews is shaping up to be the biggest bust in MLB History
Well every other MLB team had him ranked 1st, 2nd, or, 3rd coming into the draft.

Ouch.
Yankees will never have any numbers left some day
They've retired a couple of dozen. At some point they'll have to start issuing "100 and up" at least in Spring Training.
Too much lettering. Hal ( or Hank, I can never remember which kid went to heaven) said they’d go to the decimal.
Goat rodeo!
It's the Nationals comedy show early
OK the OLD Nationals team is back boy only one good week
