I think that may happen (i.e., Harrisburg). Maybe a way of setting him up for some success and then ease him back to Rochester. And after success there, maybe Washington about the beginning of June. Here's hoping he finds a situation where he can figure things out minus a ton of pressure.
Do you mean Crews? I think Rochester is possible if he continues to struggle, but highly doubtful he’d get sent to AA Harrisburg unless on a rehab situation.
The big names aren't there, but most of the minor leaguers are plus the really young guys (mostly Latin kids). And Kolko, Frandsen, and Alexa Datt, too.
Charlie and Dave used to stay there a few years back.
Everybody appears to be swinging tonight. Will Warren has thrown only 20 pitches through two scoreless innings. Josiah Gray has thrown only 32 pitches through three scoreless innings. Gray is throwing a few more fastballs tonight than last time out, 12 of those 32 pitches. His velocity is slightly down, averaging 91 mph and topping out at 92 mph. But he's recorded five swings and misses on curveballs, sliders and changeups, a good sign.
I think my confidence in Crews remains steady with the exit velos he spits out. Saw it on that hit, and with the bouts of unluckiness last season of lasering balls directly at players.
A much-needed single up the middle, stolen base and run scored for Dylan Crews. Yes, it was on the ground, but it also had an exit velocity of 109.2 mph.
And a much-needed triple for James Wood. Another groundball, yes, but it came with an exit velocity of 105.3 mph. As a team, the Nats have five batted balls over 105 mph so far tonight.
And that's a 3-0 Nats victory, another strong pitching performance in a spring full of them. In addition to Gray's three scoreless, Ken Waldichuk also threw three scoreless innings of relief, with Cionel Perez, PJ Poulin and Richard Lovelady finishing off the shutout. Only four hits from the Nats lineup, but as stated earlier, there was a lot of hard contact and some much-needed hits from both Crews and Wood.
Looking at the data provided by FanGraphs: Wood, Abrams and Crews have all increased their launch angles. Their lack of contact this spring seems to be more of a timing issue. Wood and Abrams have been maintaining their EVs but Crews’ EV dropped. However, compared to Wood and Abrams Crews’ LA increased tremendously so you would expect a decrease in EV as he adjusts to the changes in his swing. It’s a step in the right direction that his EV is ticking up. I’m interested to see if their barrell rates improve.
Dylan Crews is a late scratch due to thumb soreness. Franklin is in.
Nope
Get that soreness healed now
Need that thumb pointing upward for hitchhiking to Harrisburg. 😎

I'm looking for a tad little bit of more OFFENSE this evening. Let's go guys! Quality ABs and good hard contact!
GO NATS!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
True story from my week in West Palm. Met a guy at team hotel who is a new Nats Park usher one section over from mine.
A new friend. -:)
Are you sure you aren't one of those imaginary season ticket holders from the WaPo days?!? LOL!!
Who me?!
There's a team hotel? I thought ST guys typically shared rental houses and apartments.

Embassy Suites, btw. Highly recommended.
When they calculate “Wins Above Replacement”, they’re talking about these guys in the Yankees lineup.

Interesting. His fastball slowed down last start too. It sounds like he’s still building up. I don’t expect him up with the Nats until May-ish.
Dylan Crews breakout game! Go! ;-)

Nats bats are heating up, albeit slowly.
The pitching has been pretty good so far tonight, Gray and Waldichuk.

Really, really…really…cold beer!
Pour some out for Chuck Thompson.
At a concert at the Hylton Center in Manassas, VA. Intermission allows me to check the score.
AND ANOTHER CURLY W IS IN THE BOOKS!!!! Nice hot single from Crews and Smoking triple from Wood!
GO NATS!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
Ford’s framing really impresses me when I watch him in the WBC
