Great to see Ruiz, Young and Nunez contribute to the win today. If anything bad happened I certainly didn't see it.

One bad throw by CJ. It was harmless in the end, but he would have been better served by not trying to make the play.

I'm old enough to remember when Mikolas was the worst acquisition the Nats made, ever.

Ha! Good one!

You know what's crazy? We are now 37-35. Seattle is 37-36. We would be in 1st place in the ALW!

Bernie Gilbert's avatar

Seattle is the only team with the winning record in the ALW.

And the schedule gets EASIER from here?!

I have a feeling the fellas don't care either way. :-)

Right now, they believe they can beat anybody. And you know what? They're probably right.

Here's what I think about - they've had one of the toughest schedules in the first half, and are 2 above .500 - I just hope they're not a team who plays to the level of their opponent (see: Miami, June 1-3).

As we used to say 60 years ago in punk ball, no sweat, man.

Lost in the romp?

Nats’ pitchers combine for zero walks👍

That was the best game they have had at home in a LONG TIME and it started so weird and DAMN Miles Mikolas for CY YOUNG maybe THEY DO LIKE US MAYBE THEY REALLY DO!!

I’m proud of ya, son. I’m proud of ya! Now keep it up.

The Nats have Uncle Mo on their side (momentum). They're for real. Butera pushed all the right buttons. Bright young 'un, that one. Outmanaged Wilson. Bold claim: the Nats will be trading for-'for, mind you!-' help at the trade deadline.

Mikolas has really turned his season around. He’s stopped walking batters, kept the ball down, and today he gave them exactly what they needed, 7 innings with no runs.

The Nats had 14 hits, and 7 of them went for extra bases 5 doubles and 2 homers. That’s a full-team offensive performance. Everyone contributed, and Ruiz is starting to look like a completely different player at the plate.

Yes he has justified his role as a veteran pitcher who can be counted on to perform

Miles Mikolas 5.29 ERA. Littell 5.32. These two guys are going to finish under 5 and it will be a great success

Fun

Exciting

Gonna see them this month in DC and August in Florida

Nice work Mark

I never thought I would be casting all star votes for Ruiz. But he deserves it.

Nats about to separate from Dodgers in a good way. Will readily retake lead in runs scored and unlike Nats, Dodgers poised to lose series to White Sox

Bob Loeb's avatar

On NatsChat this morning, Al was saying they on a team record paces, exceeding the 1019 team!!

These guys are maturing in front of it eyes and building confidence every day. They deserve a chance to go all the way together and see what they can accomplish.

Dave Nemec's avatar

"Over his last 11 games, Mikolas now owns a 3.38 ERA and 0.956 WHIP"

After what we witnessed in late March/April, that is just mind-boggling. Those are top-of-the-rotation numbers.

Nice to see the NATS play ball like this! High quality pitching! High quality ABs! Talk about smashing pre-season predictions, and raising expectations! We'll see how the season plays out, but this team is fun and exciting to watch! GO NATS!!
