I like Woodshed. Take them to the Woodshed. Getting walked 12 times is pretty impressive. Have the Nationals become a patient hitting team?

Woodshed gets my vote too. Taking a pitcher “to the Woodshed” will never get old!

OK. Fans with seats in row L of 101 need to start bringing letter signs to spell out

Credit CJ Abrams for a smart play to bail out Luis Garcia Jr and get an out in the eighth.

Scoreboard watching: the Mets blew a 3-0 lead and lost to the Twins for their 12th straight!

Bwahaha.

Yes, but the last time the Mets were reeling (2024) and came into DC for 4, the Nats - with sage Al Galdi saying he liked the Nats chances in the series as the Nats were semi-hot - the Nats basically gave away all 4 games and got the Mets back on track…

I’m glad the big spenders from Queens are playing poorly - but Soto is back soon and the season is young - so I’m not ready to count them out yet. They are still dangerous. If they are eventually 19-31 be very, very afraid. 😉

I’m not sure when the Nats go to NYC or the Metropolitans come here, but that’s a “trap” series that makes me very nervous.

Love Griffin fighting to get his last batter and Butera not immediately giving him the hook. Hopefully this is Butera adapting and adjusting and becoming more willing to let some of these starters ride a little longer after last night. Can’t blame him for trusting Griffin more than Irvin tho

Wood Shed, because a Shed is a place, like the bullpen is a place.

A game well played and managed all around. I like the plate discipline and Butera adapting the most!

Keep it simple. Call it the Wood Pen.

Only if it's painted in huge letters on the back wall for the visitors to see as they're warming up.

Mark - this is the kind of insightful analysis we love! My vote is that we use both, depending on where the blast goes to….a hr to the bullpen should indeed be referred to as “James takes them to the Wood Shed” or something like that….a hr to any other part of the park should then be “James puts another HR on the Wood Pile!” Thank you for these great ideas!
