The Nationals are 2 games over .500 for the first time in five seasons, after jumping out to a big lead in Philly and watching Foster Griffin take care of the rest
Positively putrid bats in spring training? Double digit runs in half the games so far. backup outfielder with an OPS of 2.446? what the hell. supposed worst team in baseball? 3-1 to start the season.
Your 2026 Washington Nationals: Expect The Unexpected!
The whole team looked like their awareness and baseball IQ was much higher than last year. I don’t know if that’s new management, new players, or both, but it’s awesome.
It’s a cliche to say that the FO and coaches are pushing all the right buttons…but they are pushing all the right buttons
There has yet to be a lineup or pitching change or substitution decision that I disagree with. We are watching SMART baseball for the first time since…?
It's genuinely striking how many players cite the scouting report when asked about their success. Clearly the front office is doing fantastic prep work so far.
13 runs with no homers, everyone in the lineup with an RBI except for NL MVP Joey Wiemer, Foster Griffin looked like he belonged, endless surprises with this team so far.
Two games over .500 for the first time in 5 years is a WILD yet totally believable stat. Go Nats
And another Curly W is in the books! Go Nats!
No egos, just win Baby
Mark how many times did we have the bases loaded tonight? It felt like some kind of record
Good question.

Is it just me or is this team like... Not bad? Even if we regress, I think the 65-win prediction is looking a bit conservative.
I don’t think I’ve EVER seen the Nats blow out the Phillies in Philly. It’s still early in the year, but I like what I see so far.
Mark, which team leads the majors in runs scored …. The Nats! When is the last time the Nats led the majors in runs scored??
So far this new approach appear to be working a little bit. GO NATS!!!

Seriously. Running balls out. Double steal. Good at-bats. Still getting there, but nice.
When you get something pleasant and unexpected you have pinch yourself to make sure it's real WOW

Instant Analysis is 🔥
eventually there's gonna be a game that goes haywire after two outs in the bottom of the ninth... Instant Analysis will be delayed :)
Shirley, you do not admit such possibility?

A long long time, 2019?

Paul Toboni and Blake Butera have changed my life
but we must mock them for being .... YOUNG! /s
I love that you’ve brought this feature back from the preMASN era! Thanks, Mark. Keep on rockin’ it (instantly)!
