Any chance Mitchell Parker gets back to being a starter?

Jair Oglivie's avatar

It seems like they like him better from the pen

Tegwar's avatar

Leave him where he is, he's finally effective.

Llowe's avatar

Yes. Like him as a starter but he was struggling.

IMO, He’a found his place in the bullpen and Nats need him there.

A tough day…for choosing who should be highlighted, literally everyone, batter or pitcher, contributed meaningfully to the win.

A Mikolas win. A perfect outing from Parker. Kent could’ve easily slacked and gotten complacent, and yet clean inning to round it out.

Brady crushing a same handed matchup (after a very quick scouting report from the coaches, they get their flowers too).

Even Lile, the only hitless, worked two walks and got a steal. Nuñez continues to drive runners in when needed.

What a game.

The Blind Squirrel Brigade: Mikolas, Millas, and House Find a whole bunch of nuts.

Great game. And some help from Twins manager Blake Shelton. Not sure why he made all those pitching changes, specially in eighth in a tend to game, but every one of them work to the Nate advantage.

I'd like to think that last night was a look at the Nats past, and tonight was a look at the Nats future.

Just watched this game during a 13 hour layover at LAX and I’m not entirely certain this wasn’t a sleep deprivation induced hallucination. I expect to see tomorrow that Mikolas gave up 6 runs in 3.1 innings and we got run out of our own ballpark again

I just took a quick look at the standings and they are crazy. There is only one team above 500 in the National League East and the entire central division is above 500. In the American, there are only two teams above 500 in the entire league and none outside the east. It's crazy town.

This is why baseball is the best! There's no chaos like baseball chaos.

You been talking’ to CB in DC?

Jonathan Ruddo's avatar

hah! this is as negative of a comment as you’ll usually find me leaving after a win idk if i can say the same about bro tho

The Nat's pitchers didn't walk one batter. Has that happened this year?

These guys always seem to bounce back after a tough loss. Nice to see it!

McMerc7MHDC's avatar

That’s coaching. Mental fortitude.

One matter of note for Thursday which I bet Mark will mention in tomorrow’s pregame piece is that Irvin is from Minnesota and should be especially amped for the game!

GLH aka NatsFan4Ever's avatar

He mentioned it here, too.

My mom (rip) used to say, "You always sleep a little better when the Nats win." I'll be sleeping a lot better tonight!

Seaver King another good night 3 for 5 with a triple .318/.411/1.000

Mitchell Parker has found his spot. I thought they’d give him the full 3 and a half innings before it got out of hand and they handed it to Kent

Tegwar's avatar

Wanted to get Kent's feet wet since they just signed him.

nebco66's avatar

Agreed on all counts. I wish he had finished it.

Buster's avatar

Hoping Irvin can help Nats win the series. Don’t want to see Nats slipping further away from .500. What Nats offense will show up tomorrow?

jambalayated's avatar

Over the past six games we are 3 and 3. The guys taking the losses have been Cavali, Griffin and Irvin. The winners have been Mikolas, Littell and, oh, yeah, Parker. And who will be the 20-win pitcher on this team in 2026?

Steve's avatar

Well, that was a nice, refreshing win! And Abrams grand slam was a nice cherry on top!

Crews 1-4, Double and RBI tonight. Also a highlight reel diving catch in RF

Perales pitched 5 innings. Not sure if he has done that this year. Still gave up 3, but had 5 ks
