Nice to see a Nats win after getting swept by the Marlins at home. Hopefully the Nats will sweep the D-backs on their home turf and move up the NL East.
This is my option here in southern Connecticut. I have to endure video blackouts of Nats vs Mets or Yankees, but I always put on Charlie and Dave whether watching or not
I love that feature. But it didn’t work for me for a few games for some reason. It works again now, but in the interim I got more used to the TV announcers, especially if Zim joins in. So sometimes I’m too lazy to switch to C&D, superior as they are and as easy as it is to do when that feature works. Can’t really explain it, except that I’m one of the laziest SOB’s you’d ever meet (tho maybe occasionally catching an Alexi Datt interlude without having to rewind and switch back and forth has something to do with it…).
If I am not mistaken, it will also be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. I get that channel on YouTubeTV, but not sure if any other cable systems carry it.
We used to have it on Verizon FiOS. But earlier this year I discovered it was gone and we have the CBS sports network instead. Which figures because it was last year that I would have gotten some use out of it.
So much fun to watch. So much fun having hope and pride in this everybody-on-board team. Big and growing confidence in the team leadership since last July. Hope the Lerners are happy too and will not sell the team to the alternative DC ownership group. Stay on it, Lerners. Make some big things happen at (and before) the trade deadline.
Don't hold your breath on the Lerners spending . If they do do it, which is a long shot , it won't be till after the CBA situation is cleared up . And the Nats should definitely not give up good prospects for aging rentals !! No way , they need those guys for the coming years which are looking promising
I’d like to hear from Mark Z. on the “Lerner’s are cheap” accusation. This gets said a lot, but I’m not sure facts support it. When they’ve had an opportunity to contend or been good, they’ve spent a lot and had some of the highest payrolls in MLB, especially from 2013 or 14 to 2019 - and they even signed Schwarber in 2021. They signed Strasburg to a huge, and ultimately disastrous, contract after he was World Series MVP.
I think the charge holds more water in terms of spending on the minor leagues (but that seems to have changed with Toboni’s arrival), fan experiences and events, and the ballpark.
Overall, though, I think the Lerner’s have done ok - and they did, finally, manage to end the lousy MASN deal.
I think the “tell” will be what they do if the team seems ready for some sustained success and the GM/manager/staff assess that as well.
It’s great they’re 33-32 so far and I’m enjoying it a lot, but I don’t think, even if they keep playing this well (and that’s far from certain), that it makes a lot of sense to be buyers at the deadline. You have to give to get and their farm system doesn’t seem to be strong or deep enough to do so right now.
Rizzo was really good at some things, after all. I was never a “in Rizzo we trust” guy and he—like all GM’s—pulled off his share of clunker trade, but he consistently brought in great acquisitions via trade who were flying under my radar. I was glad he was fired at the time he was because by then the Nats just hadn’t been getting the results that were needed. But we should always give him credit for his extraordinary accomplishments and not give him short shrift.
It is great when there are this many candidates for “hitting highlight.” Runners up to the properly chosen Crews blast I think are the Mead blast to set the tone and the Nunez bunt to extend the lead all the more!
Peacock's sound like someone calling, "hellp"!! Charlie and Dave and the MLB Gameday will work. I hope it will be broadcast after the game on the regular Nats cable network. Ultimately, it is all about the CURLY W!!
Lights out pitching again for a game that was close most of the way in a hitter's ballpark. Zooming out beyond the Marlins series, the whole staff has really improved since April and this is the best sign for sustainable winning for the rest of the year. Maybe Mathews knows what he is doing and his parents can let him stay out after curfew tonight?
I’m enjoying seeing different guys step up each game, offensively, especially those who traditionally haven’t hit very much, like Ruiz, JY, Garcia, Crews. It’s starting to feel like any of them can deliver on any given day. A good feeling for fans to have.
I wonder if our weird home-road splits have something to do with the essentially marginal nature of our pitching. Griffin gave a clue when he mentioned the other day that the Nats are kings of scoring in the first inning and it’s easier to come in with a lead. This obviously happens more when they are on the road and they start at the bottom of the first inning with a lead. It’s hard to believe that would make such a difference over the long run, but who knows. So much of baseball is mental.
On the road again and it feels so good.
Go Nats! Another series winning curly W is in the books!
Team chemistry is great and winning sure helps
Just can't wait to get on the road again...
Just like Willie said.
Congratulations to Dylan. Now keep it up!
Very happy for Dylan!!

Peacock tomorrow, eh? Well, phooey. Charlie & Dave, here I come!
They are so enjoyable I listen to them for my play by play every game
I listen to them, too, as a rule, but I also watch the tv, especially for the replays.
I watch the game but mlb.tv has an audio option so I choose 106.7 I do switch for the pre and post game interviews
That just might be worth the price of admission!
This is my option here in southern Connecticut. I have to endure video blackouts of Nats vs Mets or Yankees, but I always put on Charlie and Dave whether watching or not
Being in north Florida I am blacked out by the Marlins and Rays so that began my slow switch to Charlie and Dave.

I have forgotten. Does a Peacock broadcast mean we can’t stream it on Nats.tv?
Yes, that is my understanding.
Thanks.
If I am not mistaken, it will also be broadcast on NBC Sports Network. I get that channel on YouTubeTV, but not sure if any other cable systems carry it.
We get NBCSN on Xfinity, thankfully. Don't want to miss out on the potential sweep!
We used to have it on Verizon FiOS. But earlier this year I discovered it was gone and we have the CBS sports network instead. Which figures because it was last year that I would have gotten some use out of it.
Peacock - booooo!
Same here. Don't need no stinkin' Peacock:))
Thanks. I think Charlie and Dave will do just fine.
Once the Nats win two in a three game series, I feel I can relax for the third.

I agree Ned, thanks for saying the unspeakable out loud.
What do I need to know about the alternative ownership group? Is it led by Darth Vader and Bernie Madoff or something?

It would be great if they do pick up a bad-ass closer at the deadline:))
Like the Daniel Hudson pickup. He wasn’t really that highly touted (I think because of TJ surgeries) but was a standout for us.
Man, he was great in 2019!!

I doubt it, since NBC owns the rights.
Yuck!
This was such a fun game to watch!!

Glad Littell did well. Him being a fly-ball pitcher in a hitter’s park seemed like it could lead to disaster. But it worked out.
Love how he’s turned his season around. Hopefully Mikolas will follow suit in June.
