Don’t know when the last year was when I didn’t have panic attacks anytime the camera cut to the bullpen. But good lord is it atrocious AGAIN, year after year after year. Shout out the usual bats for bailing them out today, and welcome back James Wood to form with a great game!
I miss FP and Bob. We didn’t know how good we had it back then, did we? Dan doesn’t grate on my nerves like he did last year. He seems to ramble on less or maybe I’m just getting used to it. Alexa is great.
The last several years, we’ve had ex-Nats either fill in for F.P. Or make guest appearances.Several were very good and one was excellent. Can anyone jog a geriatric memory?
Are you thinking of Denard Span last year? He was excellent. They had Justin Maxwell a couple of seasons several years ago. He was low-key but pretty good.
Span, Ian and Maxwell were all good and I remembered them, but Alex Avila was my preference and the name I couldn’t remember. Would be happy with any of them (or Zim).
he's not a great defensive shortstop, but he can hit when he's in the mood... he'll be a free agent before the Nationals are a truly great team again.
The Nationals have a couple/few shortstops coming up through the system who just might be better, and Nasim Nunez today is heads and shoulders above C.J. defensively (still don't know if he can hit enough.)
I don't think he is a Boras guy. The "trade CJ" thinking seems mostly based on the fact that the Nationals may need a couple seasons to replenish and develop talent to build the next contender, and CJ is a free agent after 2028, which may be the year the Nats expect to begin contending. So do they trade a talented player with years of control remaining, or do they keep a talented player at a premium position?
Every player who gets good and will become a free agent gets traded with the reason " we're not there yet it's gonna be a couple of years" . VJ can hit and though we have better defensive SS's with Nunezand on the farm we haven't seen any of them
Glad I watched til the end. Offense was exceptional but can’t rely on 7+ runs to be able to win. Toboni must figure out the bullpen problem. But, this game
had more positives than negatives. Betura managed a good game PH Mead and Vivas. IMO, Solve the bullpen and Nats can surprise in 2026.
Curly W is in the books! Way to battle back boys!
Great win!!
A win is a win but…it takes 9 runs to get a win? How many games can the offense keep this up?

What a difference a day makes!
Nats got a chance to do what we saw the Dodgers do to us.
Dodgers are up 14-1 over Toronto just now...
I turned it off when they were trailing 6-3 in the 8th.
You can thank me later.
lol me too, I missed the rally
Fundamental error. Only turn the game off when the bullpen is pitching, not when the hitters are up......
Hey, cut me a little slack. I stuck around for the entire Dan Uggla against the Braves game way back when.😁
One of my all-time favorites!
That game was Uggla. 😎
Brady House looks like a guy who is putting it all together.
Left side of the infield is producing like Rendon+Turner
This offense can become a tad dangerous if they're not careful! GO NATS!! ⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
Nationals were third in all of MLB in runs scored coming into this game... I doubt they'll drop in that particular standing tonight.
Watching postgame interviews, it occurred to me that James Wood has the same low key, monotone speaking style as Ryan Zimmerman!
I'd guess that he doesn't want the gig, but Ryan would be an exponential improvement over Frandsen in the booth
I love Zim but you can’t have a color guy who speaks in black and white
I'd prefer black and white with some actual insight to "gotta find a way!"
I miss FP, and now I miss Bob, although I can stand Dan Kolko in the booth. And I like Alexa a lot

I think we knew how good we had it, and yes, Alexa is great.
How about a booth of Dan, Zim and Alexa.
Franzen has a voice that carries. I love Zim doing color/analysis, but his voice doesn't carry and I often find him difficult to hear.
for me, Frandsen has a voice that annoys... he's probably a great guy, but he adds nothing but bluster to the broadcasts.
I listen to the Nationals on the radio stream now... Dave and Charlie are really good save for that idiotic Bang!Zoom! home run thing.
For watching games? I watch the Mets games. Not that I care a whit about the Mets, but Gary, Keith, and Ron are just so good.
😂😂😂

I recall Ian Desmond.
Alex Avila was good, and has a deep voice. His words don’t hide in the weeds.
Yes , that’s who I’m thinking of! Knowledgeable, great voice. I think he now has a front office job with Detroit.
Span, Ian and Maxwell were all good and I remembered them, but Alex Avila was my preference and the name I couldn’t remember. Would be happy with any of them (or Zim).
And a slow heart rate too
Way to come back. Truly. House, Abrams! Better plate appearances in general.
C.J. just might bring quite the haul come late July...
Noooo
Why do they want to trade Abrams? Is he a Boras guy, is that why?

Nunez is head and shoulders above Speedy Gonzales. 😎

Hit .
More evidence of how absolutely awful Coles was as a hitting coach.
they weren't great, but the 2025 Nationals weren't terrible at the plate, either...
dunno whether Coles was good/bad/neither as a coach, but maybe the new crew's approach to analytics/equipment/etc. might just be helping, maybe.
They had an OPS of .693 They were bad.
64 runs scored through 10 games. That's pretty good.
65 runs allowed through 10 games. That's not good.
4-6 record after 10 games? I'll take it. Could be 6-4, but it's better than I expected.

I hate this bullpen. I love this offense. I'm going to be on an emotional rollercoaster all summer.
Nice to see James Wood returning to form. The comeback was heartwarming to see.
so, it wasn't just the D.C. nine... Dodgers closed out their World Series rivals in Toronto, 14-2.
up the parkway in Charm City, the Orioles have matched the Nationals at 4-6 with a stirring 2-1 win over the White Sox.
Tampa beat Craig Counsell's Cubs, leaving them at 4-6 as well.
Give Toboni & Co. some time.
