Disgusting loss. Please get some bullpen help. Wood looks like he needs a day or two off.

After the Giants meltdown, I was hoping not to experience that again… especially so soon. A couple of stronger relievers are desperately needed now, not later.

I can't decide which game hurt more. This one or the Giants loss

Tough one. Looking forward to nats chat…

“The Nats bullpen in this game…not good” - Al

One out. How is ONE OUT that hard to get?

Offense has bailed them out so often it’s actually so infuriating. And to do it to the Philthies no less.

It stings but give some credit to the Phils. They've got some "pretty good" players over there and the Nats bullpen is awful. They pecked away at the Nats 5-0 lead prior to the 9th inning meltdown.

We REALLY need to win this series. Unfortunately, it’s Mikolas tomorrow and we face Sánchez on Thursday.

Looks like they may need to move some young talent for some bullpen help asap.

Many expected that there would be high-scoring games during this series, and we certainly got one tonight. Flip the script tomorrow, fellas, and come out on top.

Go, Nats!!

This one stings. One out away. Shake it off and bounce back tomorrow!

Only one strike needed to end this game after Lord struck out the first two batters. Hard to believe that many runs scored after that.

At this point, Toboni has to do something. 10 straight hits; my slow pitch softball team can’t do that. Ask the Orioles what happens when you have a young core and you don’t support them

I’d prefer not to discuss the Orioles or Earl Weaver on this blog at all - but, I’m not the author. Everyone can do/post what they wish subject to Mr. Zuckerman’s terms - just hope everyone is civil, especially after a brutal, brutal loss like this one.

Got it; I hope the Nats beat a Team That Shall Not Be Mentioned this weekend

Aww….it’s ok - you do as you like - I’m overly sensitive because of about 15 friends who are Baltimore fans, and whom I know well and wish the best for - and tell them that, only one, to this day, has congratulated me or even acknowledged the Nationals’ World Series victory in 2019. So, hot spot for me….but it’s a big, happy, fun community on this blog, so don’t mind my issues!! 🙂

Many expletives were shouted in my house, and my cell phone took the brunt of the abuse (fortunately against a couch). That was infuriating.

The sooner I forget about this game the better. Getting some bullpen help should be evident and hopefully they will be allowed to pick a few up.

One circumstance screams out loud at me. -When you use an opener and he’s left handed and u get 1 inning from him? He’s obviously then unavailable for any needs you might have for a lefty in late high leverage innings.

Kudos to Dan Mattingly for leaving Luzardo into the 7th. Their bullpen is set up for success Wed and Thurs. The Nats bullpen? No comment.

One final observation - James Wood’s worst game of the year, offense and defense combined .

Here’s hoping he bounces back quickly👍

At least I got a Nats basketball jersey out of it, plus it’s always great to see pups in the park.

Ninth inning Turner at bat against Lord and our TV announcer says “Turner has four hits in at seven at bats against Lord and the moment he said that I sunk down on my chair and yelled why did you just say that? Inconsequential I suppose overall, but it seemed to be that is when it all started with a Turner single and I just expect a little more sensitivity of the moment by our announcers. That is not why we lost but Man really why did you have to say that? I get it, the bigger issue tonight was on the field not in the TV booth.

Much to digest here and the players (mainly relievers) cost them this game. But, Butera’s extreme use situational lefty/left, etc is really burned them in a few games. Why take Ribalta out? Why are you pulling Poulin after one inning? Used 7 pitchers (not counting Schultz). This is not sustainable. Bullpen is gassed 2 games into a 4 game aeries with no off days in sight. And Griffiin went 7 1/3 yesterday!!!
