Golly gee Keibert is frustrating to watch at the plate. I’m glad he’s made strides on his defense, I’m guessing it’s come at the expense of his hitting

Brutal reality

The best thing about this game is I didn't attend.

Silver lining(s): Tena and Mead

Tena, as you said earlier, is en fuego. Tonight he was 2/3 with a double and a walk.

Mead went 2/4 with an RBI and a double.

The rest of the game: pretty much meh. On to tomorrow.

And it’s over.

If Toboni wants to make a real statement for this team, cut Keibert Ruiz. Dude is the worst player I’ve ever seen.

That being said, tonight was rough. Hopefully we figure it out tomorrow.

The lack of a viable catcher is hard to understand. I won’t say it was ignored, Ford was considered an up and coming catching prospect by most if not all the known minor league lists. I know Riley Adams is not the answer either, but would rather he get a try than the status quo (Ruiz and Millas).

I was hoping they'd try to get Jonah Heim after he was DFAd by Atlanta the other day. Instead, the A's worked out something yesterday with Atlanta and got him.

Mark's avatar

I don’t know him, but sticking with the status quo is bringing the team down.

Adams is worse than the status quo. He was given an ample opportunity to demonstrate what he could do last year. He's not an MLB-caliber hitter. The longstanding theory was Adams just needed consistent PT to show he was capable. That theory was disproven in 2025.

He definitely had chances. Agree.

How many major league starts does Cade have? Like 18-ish? Not even a full season. We all want him to be a consistent and dominant ace, but although older, he is still learning. He’ll be fine. He is a dedicated and eager student of the game.

He had a bad night. A really bad night. But I agree with you. He'll learn from this and come back stronger, though perhaps not as quickly as we fans would like.

Through tonight his average is at .182 and OPS .506. Whether at the plate or behind it, Johnny Bench is not looking over his shoulder. Heck, neither is Wilson Ramos…🤦🏻‍♂️

They are not serious about even looking good at home. What did we do to be treated so badly

CBinDC's avatar

This Nats TV is such garbage no real analysis and they did not even show Butera or players to try explain this garbage

Hondo's avatar

Yes, they didn’t look good tonight. Yes they have been bad at home this year. Yes, Nats.tv production is poor and barebones. Don’t know why they didn’t have Butera’s presser and cut the post game short. They are wasting the talents of their best off season free agent signing….Alexa Datt, but gosh, do you ever have a persecution complex! I have trouble believing this is being done to you or W,DC personally and with malice. Your shtick is getting very tiresome. We get it.

Mark's avatar

They definitely should have got Alexa into the broadcast tonight.

Stephen Boggs-Puckett's avatar

The mystery of why a bad-for-years franchise doesn't get more TV time doesn't intrigue you on a day-to-day basis?

Hondo's avatar

No mystery. Nobody out of market wants to watch them.

Vel20's avatar

With Milolas pitching tomorrow, could be another loss coming.

cl23's avatar

Maybe they should do like football and have the players stay in a hotel even when they are at home

Mike Pugliese's avatar

Rough. We are better than what we showed tonight. But Cade needs to be better and hope he learns from each outing. Starters need to get to the 7th. This 4 or 5 innings is just not sustainable.

How about kiebert challenging an obvious ball last night... Does he need glasses?

The defense looked really flat. Twice in the outfield there were chances to lay out to make an MLB play...but nope .. just watch the ball bounce instead.
