Not only that. I was looking at the win total and with only about 10-12 more wins the Nats will have reached (or surpassed) my predicted W total for year that we made before opening day.
Not getting a ton of hype as his deserving teammates at the top of the order, but Nasim is batting something like .340 this month and has a 2.1 WAR this year.
I sure hope the Nats are trying to extend Foster Griffin. Travis Sykora could come up sometime next year and they could team with Cade Cavalli for a playoff-caliber Big Three.
I just hope the Bennett for Perales trade doesn’t blow up in their face. Bennett is now 6-3 for the Red Sox with a 2.58 ERA in 10 starts.
Great lengthy at bats against Hughes to get him up to 88 pitch count after 5 innings. Then Nats promptly feasted on Rockies bullpen to take complete offensive control
Nice to see the NATS bounce back, like they often do after a tough loss. I'm thinking keep a STRING OF CURLY Ws coming over the next 10 days and then for August & September. I am also hoping what Blake Butera is hoping: “This felt like a really important game for us,” manager Blake Butera said. “I’m sure they all are, hopefully, down the stretch." OH, YEAH!! AND GO NATS!!
Nats currently tied with Dodgers for top OPS in MLB at .771. Not sure if completely up to date on Dodgers (their game is still on-going) but I think current as to Nats, as yesterday they were T-2 with Pirates at .768. And even more impressive, Nats have best slugging percentage in majors at .443. (Dodgers second at “only” .430).
From the Rolodex of ideas that will never happen but should. .... I watched Scherzer pitch against Rochester today and he looked good. Blue Jays are out of contention. How about the Nats trading for Max for a last hurrah with the Nationals.
Max is "only" making 3 million this year, and I'm sure the Jays would shed the salary. It would take very little in terms of prospects to get him. The only question is whether Max would accept the trade. Neil Young, one of my favorite song writers, said that a man should never return to where he has been.
Great to have the fun of checking the wild card standings every day now. Who would have thought?

Just amazing!

Nas is sneaky good.
I think he is hitting about .250 now too. That is very good for him!

Let’s maybe wait until Sykora completes his recovery and rehab and pitches an inning above AA before making him part of anything playoff-caliber.
I said “could” not “will.” Let’s hope Sykora makes a complete recovery and fulfills his promise.

52-51. I had to do a double-take on that record Mark posted in his article (62-61). Typo alert!
Man I really love Cade Cavalli man. Never lets anything phase him. Let’s keep this up against Arizona. Big series this weekend.
Not 52-51?

A string of Curley W's, with many of them coming AT HOME, would be great.
Go, Nats!!

We'd love to have him back!
I know it’s not 100% true but I’ve started to expect a win each time Griffin or Cavalli starts.
Eddy Yean is a freaking DUDE. Watch this guy.
Wht isn't Morales playing? Does anybodt know?
