Forearm tightness was too good to be true. Best of luck to him

To be headed for TJ surgery again just stinks. So sorry for him if that turns out to be the case, which it probably is. Yuck.

So sorry to hear this. I have been curious about something for a long time: When players suffer these injuries, does MLB cover the medical costs? Do the players have health insurance through MLB or the team they play for? Are they paid their contracted salaries while they are recovering from these catastrophic injuries? I know this is devastating for Mr. Waldichuk as he has been through this before. I’m sure Josiah Gray was equally devastated to be returned to the IL with that nagging injury. I’m hoping they are not having to worry about finances through all of this.

The players are definitely covered for injuries and rehab.

On road trips, teams can bring up to 5 players with them from their AAA affiliate or alternate training site, including at least one catcher, so that they can quickly replace injured or ill players without making permanent roster changes.

I think this started during COVID, for obvious reasons.
