Wednesday morning Q&A
Answering your questions about the first half of the Nationals' season and what could be in store the rest of the way
The All-Star Game is in the books, and it was kind of a dud. The National League managed all of three singles and two walks while striking out 15 times during a 4-0 loss to the American League. CJ Abrams struck out in each of his two at-bats. James Wood struck out in his lone at-bat. At least Foster Griffin got to enjoy his moment, retiring the side with two strikeouts in one inning of relief.
So now we turn our attention back to the Nationals as a whole. It was a wildly exciting (and also at times disappointing) first half, one that had them in playoff position for a period of time but one that concluded with a three-game sweep at the hands of the Yankees and a sub-.500 record at the break.
There are so many questions that need answering in the next few weeks and then beyond. How does Paul Toboni address the trade deadline? Can the offense keep this up the rest of the way? Can the pitching do enough to keep them in the race?
I can’t claim to have correct answers to every single question, but I’ll sure try my best. If you’ve got one you’d like to ask, here’s your chance: Send them to me in the comments section below, then check back throughout the day for my responses. I’ll do what I can to answer as many as possible, but you can help by checking to see if anyone else has already asked your question, so we don’t wind up with duplicates (or triplicates!) …

Harry Ford is batting 223 with a 705 OPS in Rochester. These numbers are well below his previous minor league numbers and he has almost 2000 bats under his belt in the minor leagues. Do you think the team still regards him as their future catcher or do you think the resurgence of Ruiz has changed their thinking?
Which Nationals farmhands do ytou think will get a chance with the Nats between now and of the season?
